SKYLINE 2.1.4 - menu bar, dock and tiling for Windows 11
=========================================================

A Mac-style top bar and dock for Windows 11, with automatic window tiling.
Written in plain C++ - no webview, no .NET, no installer. One 600 KB file
that uses only a few MB of memory.

REQUIRES: Windows 11 (Windows 10 partly works).

LANGUAGE: English by default. Skyline is also available in Norwegian:
Settings -> General -> "Language / Språk".

GETTING STARTED
---------------
1. Put the folder somewhere permanent, e.g. C:\Program Files\Skyline or Documents.
(Skyline keeps its settings in the same folder.)
2. Double-click Skyline.exe.
Windows may say "Windows protected your PC" because the app isn't signed:
click "More info" -> "Run anyway".
3. The top bar appears at the top and the dock at the bottom. The Windows taskbar
is hidden while Skyline runs and comes back when you quit.
4. To start Skyline with Windows: click the app name in the top left ->
Settings -> General -> "Start Skyline with Windows".

THE TOP BAR
-----------
Left: the app you're in + Mac-style menus (File, Edit, View ...).
Click the app name for Minimize/Maximize/Close and Settings.
Right: your tray icons, tiling button, network/sound/battery and clock.

- Tray icons: click as usual. DRAG sideways to move, DRAG DOWN to hide.
Get hidden icons back in Settings -> Tray icons.
- Network/sound/battery: click = Quick settings, SCROLL = volume, middle-click = mute.
- Clock: click = calendar and notifications.
- The top bar and dock hide automatically in fullscreen games.
- Look (Settings -> Top bar): style Classic / Floating / Islands /
Separated (three rounded panels: app and menus, clock in the middle, tray and status),
its own transparency, and "Automatically hide" (comes back when the mouse
  hits the top edge).

THE DOCK
--------
Start button, pinned apps and running apps. A dot underneath = the app is running.
- Click: open / switch to / minimize. Middle-click: new window.
- Right-click: window list, Pin to dock / Unpin from dock, Close.
- Hover over a running app: live previews of its windows.
Click a preview to switch to that window. Close it with × or middle-click.
(Can be turned off in Settings -> Dock.)
- Multiple displays: Settings -> Dock -> "Show the dock on": main display only,
all displays, or one specific display (counted from the left).
- Drag icons to reorder. Drag a pinned icon up and let go to remove it.
- The dock slides down when a window overlaps it, and comes back when the mouse
hits the bottom edge of the screen. How wide that area is, you choose in
Settings -> Dock -> Bottom reveal area.

START MENU: SkyMenu and SkyLauncher
-----------------------------------
Settings -> Start menu: Windows (default), SkyMenu or SkyLauncher.
Pick one of Skyline's and the dock's Start button and the Windows key open it.
(Win shortcuts like Win+E still work.)
- SkyMenu: pinned apps and "All apps" on the left, your folders and Power on
the right. Just start typing to search apps and settings.
- SkyLauncher: every app in a full-screen grid, like Launchpad. Scroll for
more pages, type to search, drag icons to arrange them. Esc or a click on
  an empty spot closes it.
- Right-click an app: Run as administrator, Pin to SkyMenu, Pin to dock.

PLUGINS: Now Playing
--------------------
Settings -> Plugins -> Now Playing. Shows what's playing in Spotify, your
browser and so on, with the album art.
- Dock: the cover as a tile at the far right. Click = play/pause,
hover = a card with progress and previous/play/next.
- Top bar: cover + "Title - Artist". Click = the card.

PLUGINS: SkyGarden
------------------
Settings -> Plugins -> SkyGarden. Your desktop icons gathered in glass beds.
Windows' own icons are hidden while it's on. Files never move.
- Drag the title = move. Drag the edges = resize. Click the title = roll up.
- Double-click = open. Right-click = the Windows menu. Drag icons between beds.
- Right-click a bed: New bed, Rename, Sort, Delete bed.

TILING (windows arrange themselves)
-----------------------------------
Off by default. Turn it on with the small grid button in the top bar.
- Windows snap into a grid automatically when you open, close or minimize them.
- Drag a window onto another to swap them.
- Maximize as usual - the others arrange around it.
- Right-click the grid button for layouts (BSP, Master, Columns, Monocle),
gaps between windows and optional keyboard shortcuts.
- An app that shouldn't be tiled: click the app name -> "Never tile ...".

HOT CORNERS (off by default)
----------------------------
Settings -> Hot corners. Push the mouse all the way into a corner to open
Task view (all windows), show the desktop, Start, notifications or
quick settings. Pick an action per corner. Paused in fullscreen games.

SETTINGS
--------
Click the app name in the top left -> Settings. Everything is saved instantly.
The Start menu opens in the middle (above the dock) while Skyline runs. Your own
setting comes back when you quit. Turn it off under General.

QUITTING
--------
Click the app name in the top left -> Quit Skyline.
Everything goes back to normal Windows (taskbar and tray icons).

If the Windows taskbar should ever go missing: start Skyline again and
quit it, and it comes back.
