Getting started
- Unzip the
Skylinefolder somewhere permanent, for exampleDocuments. Skyline keeps its settings next to the exe. - Double-click
Skyline.exe. Windows may say "Windows protected your PC" because the app isn't signed: click More info → Run anyway. - To start it with Windows: click the app name at the top left → Settings → General → Start Skyline with Windows.
What you get
- Top bar with the current app's menus, your tray icons, network, sound, battery and clock.
- Dock with pinned and running apps, live window previews and smart hiding.
- Automatic tiling: BSP, Master, Columns or Monocle, no shortcuts needed.
- SkyMenu and SkyLauncher: your own Start menu or a Launchpad-style grid.
- Plugins: Now Playing (album art and media controls) and SkyGarden (desktop icons in glass beds).
- Hot corners, English and Norwegian, light and dark, and it hides itself in fullscreen games.
- One small exe that uses only a few MB of memory. Quit it and everything goes back to normal Windows.
